WATERPROOFING CONCRETE WALLS OR FLOORS: THE RIGHT SOLUTION

For a concrete waterproofing coating that’s also highly durable against weather and UV effects, reach for Polybit Polyflex. Compatible with both porous and non-porous surfaces, this 2-part acrylic modified cementitious coating creates a strong, flexible coating with excellent waterproofing. It offers superb durability to UV and extreme temperatures, as well.

HOW TO SEAL CONCRETE WALLS AND FLOORS: PREPARATION

If you choose Polybit Polyflex, here is how to prepare the surface.

  1. Ensure that the surface is sound and free from dust, oil, grease and other elements.
  2. Repair surface defects and level uneven surfaces with appropriate Polycrete mortar.
  3. Presaturate surface with water. Remove standing water prior to application.

WATERPROOFING CONCRETE FLOORS: SPRAY GUN OR BRUSH

Regardless of the application method, each layer of Polybit Polyflex should be a minimum of 2mm. The consistency of Polyflex depends on the application method.

  1. Mix the two pre-measured parts on site. After pouring the liquid into the container, slowly add the powder component and mix with a slow speed drill until a homogenous and creamy consistency is achieved without lumps.
  2. Apply Polybit Polyflex in two coats at a minimum thickness of 2mm.
  3. You can either apply the coating with a stiff brush or a spray gun.
  4. After the first coat is applied and while it’s still wet, embed a glass fibre mesh.
  5. Add the second coat after the first coat is completely dry.
  6. Coat the curing immediately after the second coat dries with a wet hessian cloth or mist spray. Let it remain for 72 hours.
  7. Clean tools with warm water before mortar hardens.
